| Uni stuff |
[Nov. 30th, 2006|07:23 pm] |
The past few... erm I'm not sure how long but whatever it is... has been fun. First only the other day, I forget which, I had the self-proclaimed "brilliant" idea of drinking rum (just so at some point I can say "Why is the rum always gone?" but that's not the point) but get this, I then added to this brilliant idea with the idea of adding rum and angel delight.
Yes, Angel delight.
It tasted... ok. But the best part of the plan was this: Me, Rob, Craig and Jess (people on my course) made the angel delight, and then decided not to tell Mike, who we fetched later, that it had alchohol in it. The plan was that he would get smashed and not know why and we could laugh at him.
This was compounded by the presence of a camera so we could film his reaction and much other japery. Unfortunatly, the rum we bought was coconut rum, so the angel delight had the interesting taste of strawberry and coconut. And there's only so much you can eat. Plus the mixture wasn't enough to get us soused.
Further disapointment came in information later given to me by Mike, that Jess had betrayed us and told him it had rum in it! Completely ruining everything!!!
So she gets added to the list of people I need to get my revenge on.
Vengeance list: Old Drama teachers Jess
And to add to that spectacular failure, I jumped to sit on a railing, whilst saying "Jess you're not Special, you're just different." Which I think was an inspired comment.
Unfortunatly for me Karma caught up with me and my ingenius comment was overshadowed by my legs missing the bottom rung and me falling flat on my face, bruising my knee, shin and really hurting both my ankles!
Dammit!
So all in all a fun time!
Ultimate Frisbee rocks.
I have two performances in 4 days next week. EEK.
And I'm pretty much done, so I'll be seeing you in another life, brother.

| | Taking Back Sunday | ] | My Nano died before it even really started, in case you're wondering. Ah well, maybe next year, eh?
umm, what news do i have?
Once again I wish i could talk about lost but I know the chances are noone will have seen it, so i don't want to spoil it and don't understand the cutting thing. It's starting on Sky One at the moment i think...
That 70s show rocks. I want season five.
Uni is pretty good, I got a good bunch of friends here, although obviously thats not what uni is about...
...
...yes it is.
Pity i miss everything that happens at the weekends really.
It's really tiring of course.
This weekend I had Little Shop of Horrors audition and naturally didn't get a part. I'm still going though I think... even though I will be doing pretty much what i did last year.
Okay that gives you very little insight, but I'm tired so itll have to do.
See thee

| NaNo update |
[Nov. 2nd, 2006|10:40 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | tired | ] | I forgot to sign up for it, but I'm writing anyway. I probably won't manage it due to not having most weekends for it, but I will do my best. Anyway, update:
A laughable 2000 words. Although this is 4% of the full novel, AND is abov how much you need to write, isn't it? 1666 words per day, youre meant to do, although my maths has been failing me somewhat recently. Correct me if I'm wrong please or I'll be drastically behind.
But anyway, it has begun...
Are we gonna post them all somewhere where we can all read everyone's efforts? I'd suggest the old forum, but I don't know if it's still alive...
Whaddya say?

Oh, I seem to have got mixed up here. Anyway. I fear for my sanity.
I love watching LOST. I need the second season. And I need to watch the third season.
I love That 70s show. I need to watch the third season. I need to get the fourth.
Is there a recurring pattern here?
Oh my god, I wish I could talk about LOST. Damn youse.
On an unrelated matter. Ultimate Frisbee for the win.
I need to have a shower now.
Goodbye.

| Cut me |
[Oct. 24th, 2006|04:19 pm] |
Ok so I've pretty much been told to do NaNo. I wrote down my idea for it earlier and I shall put it here for anyone interested. I don't know how to do cuts so I'll just post it.
NaNoWriMo Fic plan maybe
Setting: Unspecified distance in the future. All knowledge of technology has been virtually eradicated. Our story takes place in the Great Desert, where the masses live in a large settlement called the Oasis. Everything is fairly primitive, brick buildings are owned by the poor. The very poor live in tents, strapped to the side of buildings, and other tents. The main meeting place is a bustling market-place, where people sell what little they have, in return for what they need.
Twist: All knowledge of technology has been lost, but the technology itself is still there. A rail network extends through the desert, the platforms and tracks are above the sand, but are reachable. And for a reason unknown to the population, the trains still run. There are factories, abandoned after the Strife, still running and catering for the long dead.
Groups of people took over these great resources and defended them from all others. Eventually, deals were made, the owners of the factories would trade what they had in plenty for what they didn’t have. But what prospered most were the people who took over the train tracks. They formed a coalition, the Line.
However, there was one group of people who struck the jackpot. There was a factory, locked and impossible to enter, nobody knew what it was for. But somehow, they managed to get in. For months they disappeared. When they returned, they were different. They were obsessed with technology, stealing certain pieces from other factories, as well as fighting scavengers in the desert over certain pieces. After a while, they all but stopped, only returning when something greatly interested them.
When they returned the second time, they were physically different. They had cut parts of their body off and fused mechanical replacements instead. This time they attacked the Line. They were fought off, everybody banded together to defeat them. But they did manage to capture one station.
Out in the desert, away from the Oasis, in small camps live the men and women whose bodies’ adapted to their new life. They are more ‘feral’ than the rest of humanity. It is unknown why this happened. This is where the protagonist of the story comes from.
Story: What are the cyborgs searching for? What happened to them? Why was all technological knowledge lost? Why is everything still running?
Thats it, roughly. There's a few more bits that I'm gonna keep to myself but thats the basic background.
I just realised that is a godawful plan. Because it has a small flaw... ITS NOT A PLAN ITS A HISTORY!
I'm a moron.
Yeah. Anyway, maybe tell me what you think.
And i was bored so I was rereading some of my previous entries and I realised I'd forgotten about my drama revenge. Just cause I don't get taught by them anymore doesn't mean I won't have my revenge! VENGEANCE! VENGEANCE!!!
ahem.

| NaNoWriMo |
[Oct. 24th, 2006|02:11 pm] |
It's come around again. Last year I abstained due to time constraints because it was Y13 and I had a lot of stuff. But this year... Well, I'm not so sure. It would be nice, it might make me feel closer to my friends that I can't talk to at the moment (Due to my computer being stupid). So, the question is... should I do it?
I have an idea for a novel. But having said that, I am notoriously bad at writing long pieces of fiction. Recently, i have managed up to 5,000 word long chapters of fanfiction. But it did take me a long time. Well, no thats not true, it's the shorter ones that take ages. But still.
So, I'm putting the question out to the web. And yes, I realise that nobody reads this anymore. So, I have a cunning plan. I am going to reply to Stuart, Andy and Rooty's posts and cunningly tell them to look here. Cunning, eh?
Should I do NaNoWriMo?
Answers on the back of a postcard please...

| I aintent dead |
[Oct. 22nd, 2006|09:40 pm] |
Honestly.
And the reason why I'm never on msn is because my computer has decided to sporadically let me on messenger (read: never lets me sign in). The same goes for my email. Having said that, I am reading emails because I can access it from the library.
So, you may ask the question: 'why, oh why, haven't you been keeping in contact using the lj as a blasted contraption to let people know how i am? I mean, come on! People could be worrying! You could have been run over or anything, and how were we supposed to know what had happened to you? I mean its just bloody inconsiderate, that's what it is. In fact! All your friends have probably given up reading this anyway, so what's the point in updating anyway?'
To which I respond, that isn't really a question at all, in fact it's three. Along with a bit of whining about me not keeping in contact. And I'm sorry, I really am. But honestly, I really don't know what to write. I mean, look at what I wrote about before...
Looked?
No. ok i'll just tell you! It's mostly tv related jibber-jabber. And now, with a complete lack of tv watching, what can i write about? I mean look at what I've written about here. You don't have to this time, you have just read it, after all.
But I'll tell you anyway!
It's basically about why I haven't posted.
This really is quite difficult to do with every little entry.
Sooooo...

So.
Fine. The other day I watched the first two episodes of LOST season 3. And wtf. doesnt quite cover it.
WHAT!
THE!
FUCK!?
Needless to say I won't ruin it for you. But I <3 [deleted] . Damn. Saying that would be a bit of a spoiler, wouldn't it?
Okay, so i can't describe my feelings about the complete shenaniganery of the LOST writers.
So recently I have brought the season 2 + 3 of That 70's show. XD I have regained my love for it. The first season wasn't anywhere near as good as the other series' so I am so pleased to have these. I've almost watched all of season 2. But I'll just say Hyde/Jackie for ever!
Also, I have the new Terry Pratchett novel called Wintersmith. It's a damn good book, as usual, a little bit confusing because the book starts somewhere in the middle, skips back to the start, and then misses out the bit it started with. Like it still happens but he doesnt go over it again. Anyway, it's awesome.
I am so tired. I really need an early night tonight, but I just know I'm gonna lose track of time. And i have a long day tomorow. *sighs* Things do take a lot out of me. It's not as easy as I thought it was going to be. It's just tiring.
I saw Paul fitz the other day. He sounds like he's enjoying himself.
I need a decent night's sleep. I just need to sleep all night, without waking up and preferably without dreaming.
Speaking of which, I had a weird ass dream last night. War, trees, planes. I can't remember much except that it was a war, there was planes circling this huge tree.
Sounds like it had good story in it.
Anyway. Sorry for not keeping in touch. I still check your ljs you know. Although Waldo hasn't updated his in over a year now.
See you in another life brother.

| LOST spoilers... |
[Oct. 2nd, 2006|10:34 pm] |
Ok, I didn't actually expect the last episode to answer any questions, so I wasn't disapointed when they didn't answer any. Oh except that the button pushing really did have a purpose. And of course when anything is resolved it is destroyed... When Boones story was over he died. Same with Shannon. And with Anna-Lucia. So predictions for the next series?
1. Locke, Eko and Desmond. I would say at least one has survived. Maybe all of them, but that would rather cheapen the whole thing. I want Desmond to be still alive, but I don't want him not to have been killed, that would really make the whole sacrifice thing pointless.Maybe Locke will regenerate his entire body because of the islands special healing abilities? Wolverine style... Maybe not.
2. Was the Pearl station the Question mark? I forget. Anyway, there's bound to be more hatches or stations or whatever.
3. Michael and Walt won't be gone forever. I would put money on that. Maybe something to do with penelope. The 'rescue team' that 'Henry' talked about maybe her team or something I don't know. Or maybe the others put a bomb on the boat. Thatd teach Michael. Treacherous bastard.
4. Jack, Sawyer and Kate will escape. Sawyer will get the chance to escape but choose to help Kate and Jack. Then they might get captured again. Who knows?
5. The mysterious 'sickness' will raise it's head. Cause Jack isn't there. Rousseau might reappear and try and kill someone...
6. Charlie was acting really weird in the last couple of episodes. I dunno... some sort of character development. The heroine will come back... AGAIN.
7. Sayid will have to take over the main camp. Because everyone else is dead or kidknapped. Or just useless. But he won't want to and will eventually come to terms with being leader and then Jack will get back and Locke won't be dead.
8. Some random characters, who you thoguht were just random characters will appear. e.g. the general guy who made Sayid interrogate his own man being the other guy down the hatch. Also, characters who are main ones will appear in other peoples flashbacks as fairly important characters. e.g. Libby and just about everyone else.
9. They might introduce some new people. They've killed quite a few. The tale-enders have one person who isn't dead... probably.
10. I don't think Libby is dead. But she probably is.
11. More people will die.
12. The island is Atlantis or something. The statue made me think that... cause the other foot should have been in the water or something... Not to sure about that theory. But four toes? WTF?
and that is about it. feel free to discuss.
I'll see you in another life, brother.
